Alberni Forest Fest
Where the Fun meets the Forest! Mark your calendars for the 1st weekend in July. Plan your vacation around it! The Alberni Forest Fest originated in 2003 from spirit of the volunteers to create a unique arts festival. A celebration of both heritage and culture at the McLean Mill - Canada's only operating steam powered saw mill. Poets & story-tellers, both local and renowned. Logger poets that tell of a time gone by where the logger was king is these parts. Woodworking displays and competition. Sundays singalong Gospel Train and the following concert up at the mill is a big crowd pleaser. Lots for families to do, with special children's activities planned. And there's always the mill's Tin Pants Theatre group and the Saw Mill Demonstrations.
The Hummingbird has been a proud host to several of the headliners over the years. Sheri-D Wilson, Howard White, Arthur Black and Eric Bibb.
